EVATON WEST – The SAPS on Friday 2nd August 2024, approximately at around 23:30pm responded to a complaint from Evaton West Extension 04 community. Where a motionless body of an unidentified African male was discovered, upon arrival by Vereeniging SAPS, the victim had blood on his head, face and trousers, further inspection by the police on the scene indicated that the victim had bullet wounds on his right lower check, neck and upper back.
The emergency services personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene, who was later identified as Mr. Zimba, the principal of Lakeside Secondary School in Palm Springs, Stretford Vereeniging.
Friends, learners and colleagues woke up to shocking and devastating news of a senseless murder of their loved one, including Sehopotso Secondary School who announced that “It is with deepest sadness to announce the passing of our former EMS, English and Accounting teacher Mr. Zimba, who was currently the principal of Lakeside Secondary School”, the school further send their condolences to the deceased family “As Sehopotso Secondary School we would like to extend condolences to his family, friends, Lakeside Secondary and everyone who knew him.
