On the first of 1 May 2024, the DA-Led Fezile Dabi intensified its anti-corruption mandate in a secondment agreement with the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) which is scheduled to conclude on the 30th October 2024.
The investigation commenced after a decision taken by the council and an agreement with SIU to facilitate a probe into past allegations of corruption and unaccounted for expenditure by previous Fezile Dabi district municipal administration in the past years.
SIU will hand in hand with DA gather evidence and information for the municipality and facilitate arrest of individuals responsible should the findings prove financial mismanagement.
