Butiki Nkopane Resigns from Build One South Africa Sedibeng Region

SEDIBENG. – Build One South Africa (BOSA) Sedibeng leader, Butiki Nkopane resigns.

Nkopane’s journey with the party started from its One South Africa (OSA) days. Nkopane said there is a time in everyone’s political journey when they have to decide about their spectrum in order to continue responding to the orientation that continues to shape their conviction as an activist.

“The 1994 breakthrough that seemed to be a strategic victory for our people has turned into a strategic defeat thirty years later. In my view, we haven’t won the fight until we unite ideologically and collectively reclaiming our birth rights, the land, and its mineral resources.”

Nkopane resigns from BOSA after almost three years of serving the party in Gauteng (Sedibeng region) securing two seats in the National Assembly and one seat in the Gauteng Provincial Legislature in the 2024 General Elections.

The BOSA national leadership disbanded the Sedibeng executive committee following what they said was a poor performance by the region in the general elections, a reason some say has influenced Nkopane’s resignation.

“The manner, in which you choose to handle internal issues, remains an obstacle that will disadvantage this organization. Frankly, as a leader and a militant person, I had to tolerate a lot of politically incorrect conduct from a handful of individuals and experienced negative treatment by the leadership in the past few months pre- and post-election. Most of you can attest to the emotional and stressful conditions I was subjected to, however, I remained a team player and delivered. It is crucially imperative to play the ball rather than playing a person. I believe in my political conviction as a robust activist and a radical leader; hence I resign on principle rather than emotions,” Nkopane said.
