Economic recession, the ever high unstable inflation rate has left our communities in despair, surviving on poverty wages, social grants while others are depended on family members and friends.

The UAT (United Africans Transformation) this past week on the 14th of September 2024 initiated an agricultural project in phase 4 Tshepiso in the district of Sedibeng, the motivation behind the project was how the Sedibeng community is highly negatively impacted by poverty, high unemployment, crime and other social ills that has left the Sedibeng region in mist of hopelessness.

The aim of the project is to uplift, encourage the Sedibeng community and all South Africans in general going through poverties to fight hunger by planting their own crops to help reduce the hardship and empower themselves.

According to United Africans Transformation spokesperson Mr. Mabule, they have come up with programs such as agricultural training project after communities’ outcry for help due to struggles they face on daily basis with food shortage. He further empathized that when the community has access to the land, they have the ability to plant, work and self-sustain, he added that “poverty will not be eliminated if we as the nation do not come together and help each other strive to succeed”.

The community members were given seeds and training on how to start their own gardens, plant the seeds and maintain their harvests.
