SEBOKENG – The South African Police Services (SAPS) in Sebokeng is investigating a case of inquest after the decomposed body of Lucky Daniel Mantsoe was discovered next to a stream on the outskirts of Boitumelo in the Vaal Triangle, according to earlier reports Mantsoe was last seen by his brother, whom he had left in Zone 24 Sebokeng with a friend and was never seen or heard from since 20 May 2024.

The Sebokeng SAPS along with K9 unit had in the past two months intensified their search and rescue operation following various tipoffs about the 38-year-old Lucky alleged whereabouts within the outskirts of Boitumelo without success. Lucky’s body was found in a state of decomposition on Saturday 3rd August 2024. Sebokeng Police Spokesperson Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane says officers from the Sebokeng SAPS, along with the Sedibeng K9 search and rescue team, responded to reports from community members who had seen a decomposed body next to a stream in a muddy area.

Upon arrival, the police removed the body, which was later identified by a family member as Lucky Daniel Mantsoe, from the Sebokeng Government Mortuary. Mokhachane urged anyone with information that can shed light to what happened to Lucky Mantsoe and help about this case to contact the station at 0824989563, 08600 10111, or 10111 or MySAPS APP
