The Democratic Alliance (DA) has questioned the misuse of public funds and negligence of the degrading Deneysville Sports Ground, despite the community infrastructure being allocated R14-million for upgrading in the 2014/2015 annual budget.

According to Cllr Jeff Zwane on his visit to the facility, the Municipal Infrastructure Grant (MIG) project failed to deliver its intended mandated on upgrading the community infrastructure, with only two multi-purpose courts and few containers which are converted in bathrooms that are not even connected to water substructure and he further explained that the vandalized Deneysville Sports Ground current state does not reflect the alleged R7 Million spent on the upgrades.

The DA was unpleased and will write a letter of concern to the Minister of CoGTA and Finance, to look into the matter, do a thorough investigation and accountability for the funds spent, this comes after Metsimaholo Local Municipality plans to allocate additional R10-million to repair and fix the Sports Ground to ensure the Residents of Refengkgotso receive the promised infrastructure and services.
