The Democratic Alliance (DA) has questioned the misuse of public funds and negligence of the degrading Deneysville Sports Ground, despite the community infrastructure being allocated R14-million for upgrading in the 2014/2015 annual budget. VANDERBJILPARK – The Emfuleni local municipality on Monday 26th of August 2024, left more than 100 households in limbo after it cut off power to the non-paying residents. A 44-year-old man was arrested in Walkerville, Vaal Triangle by SAPS Sedibeng region after the discovery of a cloned police vehicle and other illegal items.The arrest follows an intelligence-driven operation led by the Johannesburg Crime Intelligence and the Soweto K9 unit. During the operation, law enforcement officers recovered a range of alarming items, including a VW Golf marked with cloned police registration number plates and police call signs. Parys – On the 26th of August 2024, the Parys Regional Court sentenced Jacky Khoabe to life in prison and another five years for assaulting his 23-year-old girlfriend.The 28-year-old accused was arrested on charges relating to Gender-based Violence following an incident that happened on the 4th of September 2023. The Vice Chairperson of the Meyerton Taxi Association, Mr. Maduna was tragically gunned down following an alleged taxi violence saga that took place on Friday morning 23rd of August 2024 in Orange Farm near Letsheng mall.According to eyewitnesses the deceased had already been shot from Palm Springs mall.
