Evaton SAPS open a case of house robbery, attempted murder and murder after 88-year-old women was murdered in an alleged house robbery in Evaton West, Ext 11 on Wednesday 11 August 2024.
According to police spokesperson Constable Thulisile Msibi, a 62-year-old woman who runs a loan shark business at the house where the crime was committed was with her mother in law when she asked her husband to go buy groceries at the Evaton Mall, upon his return he noticed a wrapped carpet and after unfolding it, he saw a bloodstains leading to the bedroom, following the blood trail he discovered his wife lying on the bedroom floor facing upwards with a swollen face and stab wounds on her chin and head, bleeding heavily and gasping for air, the 62 year old women was taken to the Sebokeng Hospital for treatment.
She further explained that “Tragically, the mother-in-law was found lying next to her daughter. She had a swollen face, a stab wound near her collarbone and a fracture on the left side of her head. Emergency services arrived but were unable to save her. She was pronounced dead at the scene.”
A case has been opened at Evaton Police Station and no arrest have been made yet.
